Other information:

Sports Massage

Sports Massage helps to alleviate aches and pains and treats minor injuries of muscles, ligaments and tendons.

Therapeutic massage of the shoulder #

It helps to restore the tissues by increasing blood supply to the area and stretching the muscles.

Sports Massage also breaks down scar tissue and adhesions which may have built up following injury or overuse and so helps to create more freedom of movement and prevent future injury.

Injuries may be as a result of over use or strain, whether it is from playing sport or, for example, sitting at the computer.

The practitioner uses a variety of techniques from friction, neuromuscular technique, muscle energy technique and soft tissue release.

Recommended treatment time for Sports Massage is 1 hour though sometimes 30 minutes is sufficient.

Therapeutic Massage

Massage shortens the recovery time from muscular strain by flushing tissues of lactic acid and other metabolic wastes.

Massage deeply relaxes the body and helps to establish a natural equilibrium to bring about good health.

# Therapeutic Massage of the head

Massage may relax or stimulate the nervous system, reducing stress hormones and preparing the body for exercise.

Massage also:

  • strengthens the body's circulation
  • improves the immune system and energy levels
  • improves the digestive system
  • strengthens and tones muscles
  • loosens tight muscles
  • breaks down scar tissue and improves the movement of joints.

Benefits include improved circulation, relief from tired and sore muscles, relief from stress and anxiety and an overall increase in energy and well-being.

Thai Yoga Massage

Thai Yoga Massage is a form of healing that works on both the muscular system and on the 'energy body' to release blockages within our energy channels.

The practitioner uses palming, thumbing and yoga stretches to facilitate energy flow.

The combination of pressure and stretches on the body has a deeply relaxing effect on the whole body.

# Thai Yoga Massage stretching

Thai Yoga Massage enhances our general health and can alleviate conditions such as:

  • stiffness in the body
  • multiple sclerosis
  • stress
